July 7 was the first day of Islamic New Calander.Islamic calendars are known as Hijrah calendars (or lunar calendars). It began the year that the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) migrated from Makkah to Madinah. Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar, so it marks the start of the new year.
